Most families understand the need for Sport Guards for their children participating in contact sports.
Few patients understand the need for Grinding/Clenching/TMJ Mouthguards. Abnormal wear to our teeth occurs in up to 38% of the adult population. A simple appliance worn to bed keeps this damage from occurring at night when we are unaware of this problem. Failure to prevent this attrition results in flattened teeth, exposed dentin causing sensitivity, and collapsed bite making us look older than we are. Fixing after the damage is done may require full mouth rehabilitation costing thousands of dollars in treatment.
